Sweeping the Nation

‘Sweeping the Nation’ is a kaleidoscope of pan-European voices and music. I recorded just about every channel of my television and then sliced and diced the contents beyond coherent form. I mixed and matched the results to create a constantly changing musical landscape which sounds more or less globally homogenous. Every track is different, but they all sound pretty much the same. The choreographer for whom I made this music is a former Merce Cunningham dancer. She wanted the musical details to be unpredictable so that the dance would remain independent of the music.
